On the basis of these, it continues to raise the idea that"Harmony of Civilization"turns out to be the best form of dialectical existence between"Clash of Civilization"and"Coexistence of Civilization"by way of the method of dialectical logic. On the basis of the definition on the core concept of"Civilization", the thesis offers the argument on the necessity and possibility of the harmony of civilization through the lens of both theory and reality--first to expound on the theoretical basis for the idea of harmony of civilization by way of the introduction of the concept of harmony emerging from the history of civilization development of China and the West as well as that from the Marxism, and then to demonstrate the conditions in reality for the cultivation of harmony of civilization through a dialectical analysis of the impact on the diversity of civilization made by globalization as well as the non-antagonistic contradictions lying in peace and development, the main themes of the present world. In the end, it presents the means and methods to bring about harmony of civilization as being dialogue, communication and cooperationOn the theoretical basis, this thesis takes Shanghai Cooperation Organization as a example to explore its sound practices in dealing with the relations among different civilizations and unveil the essence of the"Shanghai Spirit"as well as analyze the cooperation frameworks in areas of security, economy and society to showcase the openness and energy of the organization from the perspective of harmony of civilization.Furthermore, the thesis also gives a brief introduction on the idea of harmony of civilization being pursued in China's foreign policy as well as the effort and contribution China has made in the promotion of the idea.
