Late Qing Dynasty Era can be described as a special and complicated historically period in China Annals. In 1905, with the havoc of internal and external crisis, the Qing Government abolished the imperial examination system which lasted 1300 years in China, and implemented"China tradition for base, Western learning for use"new education policy. This is not only an important turning stage for China education system, but also a milestone in China education history, which means that feudal structure of traditional education system that carried out thousand of years in China has totally changed. Meanwhile it opened a new chapter for Modern China Education. From the abolition of an old system to the establishment of a new model, the process must be torturing,difficult,valuable and meaningful. At that right time, Harbin area was also staging traditional Education Reform and the Rise of Modern Education under the both colonial control of Russia and the new policy promoted by Late Qing Government.The main purpose of the research emphasizes on showing the specific contents and transitions of education transformation of Harbin area in Late Qing period. The theme of the essay focuses on showing the changes of social structures through the research of education transformation. With the usage of Late Qing Dynasty in Harbin area of social and historical literature as empirical data, the author applied the research methods of sociology,education and history to the research which studies a variety of social phenomena and social facts, and changes in social structure caused by educational transformation. The essay describes the details and process of educational transformation as well. At the same time, it also analyzes the process and characteristics of rationality (instrumental rationality and value rationality) evolution, and further explores internal relationships among educational transformation,rationality evolution and social change.Through the research of the educational transformation which happened from traditional education system to Modern education model in Harbin area in Late Qing Dynasty, we hope that the research is not only able to reflect social changes in Harbin region, but also to exhibit the evolution of human rationality. Moreover, hopefully the experiences and inspirations extracted from the educational transformation can benefit the contemporary education reform in nowadays China as well.The text is approximately 45000 words.
