In the educational process of primary school, many teachers find that along with the increase of age and disappearance of immature faces, raising hands are also disappear; kids use to be excited when they heard the word "game", but now it is taken placed by unwilling voice "aiyo". Showing them thumb and giving them incentive stars are becoming babyish in their view; gabbling has become whispering; Teachers have to answer the questions raised by themselves.... When we talk about the changes of kids, we often think it is because of the increasing age. There is no reason and no ways to solve this problem. This essay is researching into this issue to find out the real cause of the changes in upper elementary kids. Except of age increase, teachers, school, family and society are also responsible for that. Based on the literature reviews, demonstrative studies, the article finds out the high grade students are a special group. They are physiologically and mentally different from those primary school children in other ages. It finds out that awkward silence is often occurred in Chinese class. They have less passion in English class compared with 3 or 4 grade students. Many children are sleepy in math class, and kids are unwilling to sing in music class.The present study has established two set of questionnaires on the situation of senior elementary student's classroom performance and teacher's classroom instruction to investigate 125 senior elementary students and 34 high-grade teachers and analyze the present status of the fifth and sixth graders". Through analyzing the questionnaire and interviewing the teachers, the study focuses on teaching situation of senior elementary classroom, existing problems and its influencing factors. The SPSS 13.0 for windows is used to carry on the statistical processing of the obtained survey data through parameters and nonparametric tests including Variance analysis, T-test, Chi-square analysis, U-test. The study draws the following conclusion:By summing up all questionnaires and interviews, we can know the questions and performance of kids in upper elementary:For physical and mental development, they like to make fun of others and they become fussy, their rebellious attitude and anxiety are caused by the increase of age and most of students have mental blocks and some bad habits. Inner motive and sprite motivation are the main force for them. They prefer to solve problems in a way which is combined with autonomy and cooperation, with grade 5 students tending to be autonomic and grade 6 students be mainly cooperative. They would like to have an equal conversation with teachers and classmates when they answer questions, to show them their ways of thinking. And they hope they can get sincere comments from teachers after their answers. They like democratic and relaxed study atmosphere. That lacking of confidence when answering questions is mainly caused by unclear understanding of the text. In social activities, students have one more way to communicate after the appearance of the Internet. This also causes puppy love and forming cliques.The causes of "hard to teach" in upper elementary students:1. Teachers'factors:Teachers always change the classes into self speech because of the pressure of helping students enter the key school. The awe-inspiring teachers make students afraid of them and students have no interest in the old teaching style.2. Family factors:The elders spoil the children and are lack of communication with them making a serious influence on their study and performance.3. School factors:There is not a correct way for high grade students of primary school to learn the puberty knowledge and they are lack of correct guide. There is no special material written for them.4. Social factors:Owing to the network and other bad thoughts, puppy love and ganging up become their adult ceremony.The ways and strategies to overcome the "hard to teach"To inspire students' interests and inner motive is our educational goal. Teachers should update their education ideas and methods during the course of teaching. Schools should strengthen the puberty knowledge learning and guiding, and prepare specific material for students. Parents should respect their child but not spoil him/her, it is very important for parents to communicate with children frequently. Society should create a harmonious and healthy network k environment.
