On the account of the status quo that to improve the basketball shooting through a large number of training for a long time, and concerned with the situation of less teaching hours and more teaching content of basketball courses in College of Physical Education in Shaanxi Normal University, this thesis mainly deals with experimental study of improving the basketball jump shooting of students at the least time in basketball teaching with target teaching model. It explores the improvement of teaching models and methods to show whether target teaching model and heuristic teaching could change the subject situation of teachers to dominant, the subordinate situation of students to subject or not. Changes in teaching status could whether improve the ability of students to identify, analyze and solve the problems in the process of basketball shooting and promote independent study and skill of basketball jump shooting or not is on the issue. Meanwhile, how the physical and other technological and tactical aspects of the study are impacted after the experiment, whether the psychological stability and self-confidence are improved; whether student's thoughts are changed and attitude correct; whether students'sense of success is gained, social skills are enhanced are well illustrated. Finally, whether can students achieve the ultimate cognitive, technical and emotional goals is illustrated.In this study, the main materials are obtained through the relevant literature on teaching basketball skills. And a lot of information is gained through the questionnaire to accumulate indirect methods of teaching experience and use the "target teaching mode" and traditional teaching mode on the 2010 Class 1 (the experimental class) and Class 2 (contrast class) respectively for a 4-week teaching experiment of basketball jump shooting skill, finishing with mathematical statistics and statistical test of two classes of each student's physical fitness, the set shooting rate and technology indicators before and after experiment. By comparison analysis of experimental data measured before and after experiment, the writer discusses the possibility of improving the shooting rate of students in short time, and the improvement of teaching methods in the basketball teaching, thus, generating the advantages and disadvantages of use of "objective teaching model" in the process of teaching basketball jump shooting skills.The experimental results show that the body shape of the students in Experimental Class and Comparative Class changes little, and there is no significant difference in the physical fitness measurement between the two classes. Before the experiment, the shooting average of the Experimental Class in the perimeter jump shot and the close jump shot is below than that of the Comparative Class, and the shooting average of long shot is higher than that of the Comparative Class, which shows no significant difference. After the experiment, each shooting index of the Experimental and Comparative classes has no significant difference, with the shooting average of the Experimental Class in perimeter jump shot is lower than that of the Comparative Class, and the close jump shot and the long shot rates are higher than that of the Comparative Class. There is significant difference in technical evaluation index of the close jump shot, perimeter jump shot and long shot. Comparison of each index before and after the experiment show that, there is significant difference in the shooting average and technical evaluation in the Experimental Class except for the significant difference in the shooting accuracy of long shot, while there is no significant difference in the Comparative Class.But the experimental class than contrast class students were hit rate increase.Conclusion:The "target teaching mode" has good preparation before the technical experiment of basketball jump shot, and this paper divides the final objectives to achieve into several stages, adopting heuristic method of teaching and combining the multimedia instruction to give guidance for students in every learning stage so as to make the students to understand the process of achieving the goal clearly and let them focus on different link in practice, fix errors and improve skills. Modern technology education, new methods and new teaching ideas has created conditions for the smooth implementation of "target teaching mode". The new teaching method brings communication and discussion in the learning process among students, and it develops the students'abilities of criticizing problems of themselves, analyzing problems and finding effective ways to solve problems. Furthermore, it builds up the students' confidence to experience the joy of success, enhances their psychological ability, cooperation ability and adaptation ability. It makes the students have positive sense of overcoming difficulties and exploring spirit so as to make full preparation for active learning. The mutual help between teacher and students in the experiment helps the slower students make progress in learning and skills. The slower students'progress makes the entire learning effect of the whole class increase. Students in "Target teaching mode" actively participate in classroom teaching, and practice actively under classmates'encouragement and supervision so that the students'waist and abdomen strength and upper limb power will obviously increase, then they will promote the jump shot average significantly. "Target teaching mode" has achieved success that the students can master jump shot skills in a short time, which indicates that the method can be applied to basketball technical teaching in Institute of Physical Education as a universal course. Still the importance of the traditional teaching modes cannot be ignored, for the proper application of traditional teaching modes will achieve good effects in enhancing the shooting accuracy and promoting the technical levels.
