In physics teaching, because of the physical concept of high generality and abstraction, the level of cognitive development of students will affect the physical concept of learning. With individual cognitive development and psychological development of students, their cognitive psychology has a great impact on the result of their physical learning. So, it has a certain significance to research on obstacles while they are learning physics concepts and strategies to solve the problems from a cognitive perspective.This report analyzes cognitive processes and barriers while they are learning physics concepts; combined with the theory of cognitive psychology, the characteristics of physical concepts and the laws of psychological development of middle school students. Moreover, it also gives suggestions on how to organize teaching reasonably, how to make teaching fit students'cognitive patterns and help them solve the obstacles and better understand and master the physical concepts according to students'perception, memory, imagination, thinking, attention to various cognitive and psychological characteristics.It shows that students are influenced by the their level of cognitive process as well as their activities including feeling, memory, imagination, thinking and attention, when they are leaning physical concepts. With scientific guidance of psychological theory, teachers can apply the laws of cognitive psychology to teaching physical concepts, which has a great significance of inspiration and guidance for"students-oriented"teaching method.
