With the development of the socialist market economy and the deepening of politicalsystem reform, China is in social transition to socialist modernization. In this specialperiod, how people’s citizen consciousness, is to measure the height of socialistmodernization. High school students as the successors to the cause of socialist construction,their civic literacy directly affects the future development of our country. Therefore, thestudy of contemporary high school citizenship situation and put forward correspondingcountermeasure, has a very important practical significance.In this paper, the method of document reference method and questionnaire surveymethod is used to research the cultivation of high school students citizen consciousness.There are three aspects tried to carry on the deep discussion of ideological and politicalcourse for high school students, including investigation and analysis of high schoolstudents citizenship situation, the feasibility of ideological and political course on civicculture and the proposed measures. Through this study, systematic understanding andprofound understanding of High school students cultivation of citizenship awareness isexpected, as below.The first chapter explains the concept of civic awareness at the macro level to makethe content of the civic consciousness training clear. In order to enhance the high schoolstudents the cultivation of citizen consciousness better, we designed a targetedquestionnaire to understand the status quo of the current high school civic consciousness inthe process of the research. Through analysis of the results, we found the reasons for thecurrent constraints of high school students’ citizenship development, such as theconstraints of traditional subject culture, weak civic education of school and effects ofadverse thinking in social reality environments.The second chapter analyzes the specific aspects of the feasibility of trainingcitizenship for high school students through political class. a. Training civic awareness ofhigh school students is an important goal of the ideological and political discipline. b. thereare a lot of civic awareness training content in ideological and political course, including the significant and potential civic awareness content. c. There are many forms of teachingmethods of Ideological and political course. d. And adequate credit hours are set up for thiscourse.The third chapter puts forward some corresponding measures from the perspective ofpolitics teaching as follows. Improve teachers’ civic literacy; focus on the development andutilization of curriculum resources; create a free and democratic atmosphere in theclassroom, etc.
