Independent learning generally refers to the process or ability about individualconsciousness to determine learning goals, make plans, select learning methods,monitor learning process, and assess learning results.The purpose of mathematicseducation is not only to study the ready-made mathematics knowledge and skills byteachers, more important is to teach learners how to learn.The process of learningmathematics is not just the process of accumulation of knowledge, more important isto enhance learning desire and ability.So the study of mathematics independentlearning is the need of social development, individual development and to improvethe quality of teaching in junior or high school.For this study, the theoreticalmeaning is: to extend the research point of view, enrich the research methods, enrichmathematics independent learning theory; the practical significance is: to give deepanalysis of the independent learning perplexity, to give suggestion to mathematicscurriculum reform.This study uses many methods,mainly as follows: literature study, questionnairesurvey, interview, observation, case study. As an example, in the second middleschool of Kunming, the experimental study about mathematics learning iscomplemented. An experimental research on independent Learning has been finishedin the second middle school of Kunming, including a quantitative and qualitativestudy.Research contents contain: two surveys about independent studying andteachers teaching behaviors,including their correlation.;we also interviewed manyteachers so as to understand the present situation we face about independent study insenior school.In addition, we also go into classroom and do observation, participate invarious teaching activities,talk to teachers in the school face to face, extract manysample, we use tools such as classes scale.to analyse their organization and strategieswhen engaging in independent studying.The study finds, the ability of independent studying inhances faster according totheir model than those not.,and classroom dynamics is more active,the students areso independent to study and their ability to studying also is inhanced.
