Ideal classroom should be the stage of mind-to-mind contact and interaction between teachers and students. Teaching process is the process of interaction of teacher-to-student and student-to-student. It is a main form of knowledge transfer in the traditional classroom where teachers always ask questions and students just response. Throughout high school geography class, such teaching mode " teachers ask---students answer---teachers ask again---students answer again" has become a common phenomenon. The teacher is functioned as the protagonist in the class, thus, students have little chance to ask questions. Due to the existence of utility thought in most provinces and cities in China, geography is still considered as an "minor course", especially in the heart of parents and students. Therefore, it is our duty and to arouse the students interest and enthusiasm for geography and make them have the question about geographical phenomena all the time.In this paper, chapter one will give a brief introduction to the background of the research, the origin of questions in the classroom, the purpose and the significance of the research, and also the psychological principle of questions. How to ask questions and effective questions in the classroom will be discussed in Chapter two, and meanwhile, this chapter will describe the type and the process of questions, some mistakes for traditional questions and evaluation standard of effective questions in the classroom. In the following chapter, investigation about current situation of the questions in the classroom will be carried out and analysed from students and teachers. Chapter four will do a detailed research on the design and approaches to implementation method about effective questions. Last chapter is a summarization of the whole paper.So, through the research, I hope,if following objective law:with as less time, energy and material resources input as possible and more teaching effect, we geographic teachers can achieve the teaching goal and meet specific social and personal education value demand.
