This paper studies the relationship between the status on parenting style and the empathic ability of Yi secondary school students and everything in between. Adolescents entering high school will be faced many unknown challenges. Good empathic ability is their development needs. The family not only as an important place for their growth live but also as a good environment to cultivate their good empathic. Parents are child’s first teacher, but also the children’s mentor of life. Therefore, physical and mental development in children affecting various factors, parental rearing patterns play a very important role, and to some extent determines the direction of the chiledren’s development. This paper studies the status of parenting style and Yi Students empathic abilities, characteristics, and associations between them, and to seek the right way to develop the empathic ability of Yi student.This paper’s research method is mainly independent sample t test, ANOVA, correlation analysis and statistical methods such as regression analysis. Conclusions are as follows,(1)Yi parents in general tend to use positive parenting style to educate children,Yi Students feel more parenting style on the whole is parental warmth and understanding. Yi Students felt parenting styles of parents are significant differences in gender, parental education and parental occupation, etc.(2)Yi empathic ability of middle school students is significant differences in terms of gender and parental education. Empathy scored of girls is significantly higher than boys.(3) Some parenting style fators and Yi students empathy are exists corelation. Parental warmth and understanding are positive ways to the the empathic of Yi students. Parents’ punishment,rejection and denial are negative ways to cultivate the empathic of Yi students.(4)Parenting styles can predict the empathic of Yi secondary school students, farther’s overprotective and mother’s emotional warmth and understanding can predict the empathic of Yi students directly. The farther’s warmth and understanding,farther’s punishiment, farther’s over-interference and mother’s over-protective,mother’s severe punishment can predict the empathic of Yi students indirectly.
