An Analysis Of The Current Situation And Countermeasures Of The Cultivation Of College Students' National Spirit

Throughout the long history of evolvement of the Chinese people, the great nationalspirit of solidarity and unity, peace-loving, Industriousness and braveness as well asself-improvement, centering at patriotism, has been developed. The Chinese national spirit isthe best part of the life style, belief and sense values. It is also a moral kingpin and innermotivation which forms the Chinese people live on. University students, as the erector andsuccessors of the cause of socialism, are responsible for the nation development, and it isrequired that they processes a strong sense of national spirit. The cultivation of universitystudents’ national spirit is beneficial for them to develop correct view of lives and sense ofvalues, and this is the spiritual motivation to grow up healthily. Moreover, this will also bebeneficial for carrying forward the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation which isthe need of comprehensively deepen reforms. Furthermore, it is good for establishing anall-around affluent society which is an important moral kingpin to realize the “Chinesedream”. Universities are important bases for students’ national spirit cultivation, thus we haveto emphasize this problem, and treat the national spirit cultivation as an influential theoreticaland practical subject for university students’ ideological and political education.This article is divided into mainly five parts:The first part is an introduction which covers the motivation for the subject, relatedresearch backgrounds and the current situation, followed by a research idea of this paper.The second part delivers the fundamental meaning and content of national spirit andChinese national spirit, as well as the interpretation from many scholars. This section is thelogical starting point and theoretical basis of this article.The third part discusses the realistic significance of cultivating university students’national spirit, and request the all-around emphasis from the students themselves, universitiesand the society.The fourth part analyzes the current situation of university students’ national spiritcultivation. The underlying problems and the causes are both deeply analyzed.The fifth part which is also the focus of this article, suggests the principle and paths ofuniversity students’ national spirit cultivation. It casts a light on effectiveness and provides aclear thought and direction for the upcoming national spirit cultivation course in universities.
