Chinese national spirit is the mental power that impels the Chinese nation tocontinuously make progress as well as one of the indicators to measure overallnational strength in the present world. Whichever country desires to be a worldpower must have the national spirit of strong cohesion, which is even moreimportant than a solid material foundation. During this period of transition inChina, the cultivation of this national spirit is especially important. High schoolis the most important period during one’s life, when one’s world outlook, outlookon life and values are formed. As the most important force of the nation, highschool students bear the heavy burdens of constructing and developing our nation,whose state of national spirit has an impact on the future development of oursociety. On the whole, high school students love their motherland to some extent,and have quite strong national consciousness. However, affected by variousfactors, some problems also arise among them such as the confusion of values,the weakening of patriotism, the forgetfulness of the basic national customs andso on, which deserve the concern of the teachers and the whole society. Therefore,the focus of education is to look into and analyze the current situation of thenational spirit of high school students and put forward some reasonable andpractical measures.This paper made a more detailed study on this subject. The full text isdivided into four parts: the first part, understand the connotation of national spiritand national spirit of education both at home and abroad. Through the researchdiscovery, the domestic about the national spirit education is still relatively small,on the implementation of the national spirit education is relatively surface. Thesecond part, the main analysis of the current situation of national spirit ofcontemporary high school students and the problems existed in the teaching ofgeography. We find that, the national spirit education students’ acceptance ofgreater differentiation, literacy national spirit most students is not high, manystudents lack the spirit of patriotism in the high school stage, the goal is not clear;literacy national spirit of geography teacher is not high, not very good expression of subjectivity of students of School of geography classroom; the management ofthe national spirit education lack of knowledge. At the same time to investigatethe cause of middle school students of national spirit. The third part, analysis ofthe high school students in the national spirit cultivating some operable strategies.Mainly from two aspects of social practice teaching reform in classroom andoutside the classroom. Mainly take the classroom teaching is the emotionalcreation, task creation, research, research methods and some students’ agecharacteristics more consistent style; social practice after class fully exploits thegeography curriculum itself advantage-the local geography learning. The fourthpart is the implementation of strategy, check, to verify the effectiveness ofimplementation of the strategy of inside and outside the classroom.
