Chinese national spirit is the mental power that impels the Chinese nation tocontinuously make progress as well as one of the indicators to measure overallnational strength in the present world. Whichever country desires to be a worldpower must have the national spirit of strong cohesion, which is even moreimportant than a solid material foundation. During this period of transition inChina, the cultivation of this national spirit is especially important. High schoolis the most important period during one’s life, when one’s world outlook, outlookon life and values are formed. As the most important force of the nation, highschool students bear the heavy burdens of constructing and developing our nation,whose state of national spirit has an impact on the future development of oursociety. On the whole, high school students love their motherland to some extent,and have quite strong national consciousness. However, affected by variousfactors, some problems also arise among them such as the confusion of values,the weakening of patriotism, the forgetfulness of the basic national customs andso on, which deserve the concern of the teachers and the whole society. Therefore,the focus of education is to look into and analyze the current situation of thenational spirit of high school students and put forward some reasonable andpractical measures.This paper made a more detailed study on this subject.
