Ideological and political course in high school is an important channel forteachers to give the students moral education, as well as a main platform forEmotional Quotient education. Although certain improvement has been made in theteaching of ideological and political course due to the promotion of quality educationand a new round of curriculum reform, the phenomenon of “IQ before EQ” stillremains, which means the role of Emotional Quotient education is not fully played inpractical teaching. By applying literature research and experience summary, this papertries to explore the path of Emotional Quotient education in the teaching ofideological and political course in four major parts.The author defines the meaning of Emotional Quotient and Emotional Quotienteducation by integrating domestic and foreign relative research achievement, andexplains the five aspects of Emotional Quotient education, that is to develop students’ability of self-awareness, self-management, self-motivation, identifying other’semotion, and the ability of dealing with interpersonal relations.By combining China’sspecific national conditions, the author analyzes the necessity of EQ education in theteaching of ideological and political couse. EQ education is necessary for ourcontemporary social reform and development, for educational reform anddevelopment, and for the reform and development of ideological and political couseteaching. Meanwhile, the author also analyzes the significance of EQ education in theteaching of ideological and political course. Emphasizing EQ education contributes tothe construction of a harmonious society, to the harmony and stablity of families, andto the physical and mental development of students.By sorting out research data andcombining practical conditions in the teaching of ideological and political course, theauthor gives an in-depth analysis of a series of problems that exist at present. Theproblems include the teachers’ lacking knowledge of EQ education in teachingideological and political course, their insuffient exploitation of EQ education resource,the limited forms of EQ education, and school’s assessment mechanism of EQeducation that still remains to be improved. In-depth analysis of the problem based onthe status quo, to explore possible paths to improve the ideological and politicaleducation Teaching EQ from two angles educated workers and teaching. Thefeasibility of proposed targeted relatively large solutions aimed at improving theteaching of ideological and political education of objective and subjectiveenvironment EQ teaching methods based on ideological and political teaching statusquo as described above, the problems, prompting students to fully development andbetter contribute to society.
