Educational reform and development needs help and support from everyone in society and many aspects of the social system have an effect on it. As an important part of the education funds source, family investment in education has a close relationship with the educational reform and development and is critical to its smooth progress. Therefore, exploring the influence of family education investment on educational reform and development has great practical and theoretical significance.The research is based on the conjunction point of the twenty-word principle of educational reform and development and the influence of family education investment on it. The researcher did field research as well as expert interviews and then built the measurement system which shows the influence of family education investment on educational reform and development. The research tested the reliability and validity of the questionnaire by statistical software SPSS19.0to insure the scientificity and dependability of the research conclusion.The research investigated2,000families from14schools in4provinces by questionnaire. Through the study of the descriptive and inferential statistical analysis of data obtained, the researcher concluded that families’ education investment supports the educational reform and development, but presents a big difference between different dimensions. Firstly, it’s the urban and rural difference. Urban residents’ family education investment to support the quality of education reform and development is significantly higher than that of rural residents. Rural residents’ family education investment is more utilitarian than urban residents. Secondly, it’s the gender difference. Family education investment for girls has stronger influence on education reform and development mainly because its resource use efficiency is much higher than that for boys. Thirdly, it’s the regional difference. The total support level in eastern region is observably higher than that of the central region, the resource use efficiency in eastern and western family education investment is higher than that of the central region, the rationality of the family education investment in western area tend to be significantly lower than that of the eastern region. Fourthly, it’s the investment level difference. The investment level of general families support better to the education reform and development than those low level investment families. The utility degree of low level investment family is significantly higher than that of high investment families. Fifthly, it’s the learning period difference. Family education investment of primary school period support most to the education reform and development, middle school period comes next, and high school period supports least. And the quality support dimension appeared to be the same result. On the dimension of resource use efficiency, significant difference was found in elementary school and junior high school, primary school resources use efficiency were higher than both junior and senior high school.There are problems with family education investment to support the education reform and development, which are fuzzy support purpose, low efficiency in resource utilization and the investment structure is to be optimized, etc. The reasons of these problems are the big income gap, parents’ laggard educational idea, uneven investment capacity, imbalance of the education resources allocation and the constraints of education evaluation system. In order to improve the family education investment’s support level to the education reform and development and ensure its smooth progress, narrowing the income gap is fundamental, optimizing the educational resource allocation is basal, updating parents’ concept is a guarantee and reforming the education evaluation mechanism is the motivation.
