| Nowadays, the theory,The Knowledge Capital of Nations, think that the Knowledge Capital of Nations in one country has a significant contribution to it’s economic growth, and the improvement of the Knowledge Capital of Nations requires the support of both the government and the family.Nowadays, with the popularization of Compulsory Education, the government has further promoted the development of educational fairness through financial investment and optimizeding the allocation of educational resources, causing families to reduce and converge on educational expenditures in schools. However, when the school’s internal education quality cannot meet the educational needs of high-income families.More and more families prefer to improve students’ academic performance through extracurricular tutoring, which has caused the phenomenon of "the population of extracurricular tutoring " which is increasingly common in the current society. At present, most of scholars mainly focus on the impact of the government’s education investment on the quality of school education, but they pay less attention to the impact of family education investment at the level of children’s academic performance. Therefore, this article starts from the perspective of intellectual capital, based on the theoretical model of the educational production function, and uses the way,Propensity Score Matching and Difference-In-Differences analysis,to make an in-depth analysis of the causal effect of out-of-school educational investment from families(monetary investment)on children’s intellectual capital. From this research,we have get some conclusions.First of all, providing children with extra tutoring on the projects,Language and Mathematics, except English.,can significantly improve children’s academic performance.Meanwhile,Increasing the expenses of extracurricular education tuition by families will not have a significant impact on children’s academic performance.Secondly, extracurricular tutoring contribute to the improvement of children’s academic performance differently in gender and function. From the perspective of gender, providing tutoring boys with extra tutorings on Chinese and mathematics can significantly improve their academic performance, but the extra tutorings on English has no significant positive effect. For girls,Chinese extra tutoring provided by the family can significantly improve their academic performance, but the effect of extra tutoring on Math and English is not significant.Next, from the perspective of extra tutoring function, the family provides Mathematics and English extracurricular tutoring for children in the " Inferior " group to significantly improve academic performance, but tutoring does not significantly promote the "Superior" group of students. Finally, from the perspective of the intensity of tutoring input, the increase in extracurricular tutoring expenditure only has a significant impact on boys’ English scores and the Chinese scores of the " Superior " group.Based on the above findings, this article puts forward the following suggestions.Firstly, the government needs to establish an effective guarantee mechanism for compulsory education fairness and take multiple measures to reduce the difference in education quality between schools, aiming at promoting the development of education fairness.Secondly, the government must treat extra-school tutoring correctly and regulate the healthy development of the extra-school tutoring market because that extraschool tutoring has a positive effect on the improvement of some children’s academic performance. Finally, relevant government agency should improve educational concepts and methods, paying attention to teaching students in accordance with their aptitude,to comprehensively improve children’s academic performance. |
