In today’s social situation,a country’s human capital determines the country’s future development possibilities.In other words,education is not only important at the individual level.From the perspective of a country’s long-term development,education also determines the country’s future development.Core competitiveness.2020 is the closing year for China to build a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way and win the battle against poverty.From the perspective of education for poverty alleviation,the gap in education between urban and rural areas in China is still very serious,and gender differences are also an important part of education gaps.Therefore,this article attempts to analyze the impact of gender on parents’ educational expectations and educational investment from the perspective of urban-rural differences.The first part of the article puts forward the core viewpoints of the research,including the topic background,research purpose and significance,relevant literature review,research content and technical roadmap;the second part defines the relevant concepts and organizes the theoretical basis used;the third part Through the data released by the National Bureau of Statistics,a comparative analysis of the status quo of gender differences between urban and rural areas from the perspectives of the education field and the labor market;the fourth and fifth parts use the Logit model and the Ols model to investigate the China Education Tracking Survey(CEPS)2013-2014 Conduct empirical analysis on baseline data of 2015 to understand the gender differences in education expectations and education input,and compare and analyze urban areas and rural areas;the sixth part is based on theoretical analysis and empirical research,and summarizes the following conclusions :(1)Parents’ educational expectations are affected by gender.The “high expectations” for boys are actually more embodied in the expectations of boys for master’s and doctoral degrees,while girls have higher “undergraduate education”.expect".And this gender difference is more obvious in rural areas.However,higher undergraduate education expectations for girls do not mean that the concept of patriarchal education has disappeared.This is because the more serious employment discrimination in today’s society makes women have to improve their education level to obtain a better employment platform.(2)Comparing the investment in education in urban areas and rural areas,it is found that urban areas have higher economic investment,and rural areas have higher time investment,and both are more biased towards girls.The seventh part is to combine the current policies and rural environment,and put forward reasonable suggestions from three different levels: family,school,and government based on the above conclusions.
