Autism is a severe developmental disorder that generally appears before the age of3. Social difficulties, speech developmental delay and stereotyped behavior are the main characteristics of autism. For the autistic children with obvious language defects and social obstacles, the success of their education is closely linked with lifelong education degree of parents involved in their children’s education. Therefore the parent education is very important. So the parent education needs can’t be ignored.Using the questionnaire survey, this study investigates autistic parents in Dalian, Tangshan and Qinhuangdao by self-made questionnaire. This study aimed at understand the understanding the condition of need for parent education content and implementation ways. On this basis, this study discusses the influence factors of parent education needs and finally gives some suggestions.Through investigation and analysis, this study darws the following conclusions:1.In the aspect of parent education content, the overall need of autistic children’s parents is very high, urgent and wide, especially the need for professional knowledge, skills and resource is most urgent. Parents’ need which around the content of children ’s life quality and improving parent-child communication is the strongest, including "learn how to improve children’s social adaptation ability""understand children’s physical and psychological characteristics and requirements in different stages of development" and "learn the knowledge and skills of promoting the development of promoting the development of children’s physical and mental health ".2.1n the aspect of parent education implementation ways, parents of children with autism would like most to accept parent education through the way of information provided. Parents’ need which around the implement way of social support provided by the government and parental activities provided by schools is the strongest, including "the government sets up a special consulting agency to provide services for parents""the school provides family education materials in the new semester and parents meeting" and "the school holds parent education lecture".3.In the aspect of the need of parent education implementation time, frequency and location, most parents think that the parent education activity should be regularly held in school during the daytime in weekdays and every activity time should take one to two hours.4.In the aspect of the need for professional knowledge, skills and resource, family members, educational level of parents, homeplace, family economic conditions and children’s degree of disorder all affect the choice of the parent education. Family economic conditions are the most significant factors affecting parent education needs.According to the above conclusion, this study makes some suggestions for the school or the relevant units to carry out the parent education, the government, community and parents respectively.
