With the increasing incidence of autism and the continuous improvement of medical diagnosis technology,more and more children with autism will be identified and treated early.As the etiology of autism is unknown,early education and rehabilitation training of autism have become the main means of treatment and intervention.However,the existing rehabilitation resources in China are limited,and the services provided by rehabilitation institutions cannot meet the needs of this group.Therefore,early intervention should not only be limited to the professional staff of institutions,but also parents of autistic children should participate in early intervention.Preschool children with autism spend most of their time in the family,and parents are important participants in the early intervention.Under the professional guidance of professionals,parents can reasonably use evidence-based practice intervention methods to intervene children with autism,it will not only help increase the intensity of intervention,but also generalize the contents learned in the institution into life,which will have a positive impact on the rehabilitation effect of children.This study conducted a questionnaire survey and individual interviews on the current situation of parent involvement in the early intervention of children with autism,and analyzed the influencing factors of parent involvement in the early intervention of children with autism and the difficulties encountered in the process of participation.The research is expected to provide some favorable references for parent involvement in the early intervention of children with autism more effectively.This study draws the following conclusions:1.The overall level of parent involvement in the early intervention of autistic children is moderate.The higher parent involvement is the family education of children;Secondly,communication between parents and teachers and parent education;Participation in institution activities has a lowest level of participation.2.Family income,degree of children’s disability and whether they are the only child are the factors that affect parent involvement.Specifically,parents with lower family income have a higher level of participation;The level of parent involvement of children with mild and only autism is higher.3.The main difficulty for parents to participate in early intervention is the lack of professional rehabilitation knowledge and skills,and they have a strong demand for professional rehabilitation knowledge and skills.According to the investigation results of the current situation of parent involvement obtained in this study,this study proposes six suggestions to improve parent involvement from the government,institutions and parents :(1)Provide relevant legal guarantee for parent involvement;(2)Provide financial support for parent involvement;(3)Strengthen homeschool cooperation and provide more professional resources;(4)Strengthen teacher training and promote parent-teacher communication;(5)Do a good job in role transformation and improve the level of participation;(6)Parents help each other and establish a self-help network.
