A Study On The Education Of Contemporary College Students' Socialist Core Values

Mei Yiqi, the lifelong President Professor of Tsinghua University, once said:"the University, is not because of the buildings, but because of the masters." The University plays an important role in cultivating socialist talents, in addition to spreading the knowledge and the truth to the college students, and teaching them the ability of seeking truth, but more important role is to help students to establish the value orientation of life, guide them to pursue the true, the good, the beautiful. The Contemporary College Students are in the key period of life, they are the successors and fresh combatants in the construction of Chinese characteristic socialism, the healthy growth and all-round development of them are not only related to their own development, but also directly affect the future direction of our society’s development. The socialist core values are from the national, the social, the personal three levels covering all aspects of the requirements, reflect the value pursuit of the people. The socialist core values meet with the interests of the overwhelming majority of the people’s values, which can won wide recognition of the people. Therefore, the socialist core value’s education is an important way of the party to won the young college students, is the essential requirement of socialism development, is the practical requirement of Chinese characteristic socialism, is the key issue of political and ideological is the practical requirement of Chinese characteristic socialism, is the key issue of political and ideological education in colleges and universities.This article is based on the related concepts of the socialist core values, according to the current situation, the existing problems and the influencing factors of contemporary college students’values, puts forward principles, method, modes and mechanisms of the college students’socialist core values education. On these basic, the article will propose the corresponding strategies and path at last. The article is divided into six parts, the first part is introductions, mainly discusses the status of value education at home and abroad, clarifies the significance of the topic, research goals, methods and innovations of this paper, focus on analyzing the connotation and relationship between the socialist core value system and the socialist core values. The second part, analyzes the theoretical basis of value education, the party’s five generations leaders expectation for the healthy growth and value cultivation of the college students. The third part, analyzes the showing features of contemporary college students’values, such as multicultural existence, independent selectivity, pay attention to the practical, strong plasticity, and then states the deviations of contemporary college students’ values about the cool on political values, the utilitarian on economic values, the multivariate on culture values, the cold on moral values, and last analyzes the cause from the pluralistic culture and social thought, the negative effects of market economy, the negative impact of mass media, the family, school, society and the students. The fourth part expounds the principles and methods of contemporary college students’ socialist core values education. The principles include the directional principle, the entity principle, and the principle of seeking common ground while reserving differences, the principle of "three closes" and permeable principle. And the methods are the inheritance and development of traditional methods of ideological and political education, exploration and application of new method, drawing lessons from the foreign values education. The fifth part, explains the modes and mechanisms of contemporary college students’ socialist core values education. There are four modes, life education, practice education, network education and research study. The main mechanisms include interaction type, psychological identity, incentive security and supervision and evaluation. The last part, analyzes the strategies and paths of contemporary college students’ socialist core values education from macroscopic and microcosmic.
