The first section provides a brief overview of the natural environment geography and human geography about Ordos Plateau areas in historical periods. Then discuss the characteristics of topography and climatic characteristics about study areas during the Qin, and Han in natural and geographical environment aspect. And in geography environment aspect, this section discussed the ethnic relations and administrative history about study area during the Qin and Han dynasties. The second part outlines the development of the city in Ordos Plateau areas during the Qin and Han Dynasties. Then discuss the rise of cities in Qin dynasty and the development in Western Han and declined during Eastern Han. The third part analyzes the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics and influence about the cities in study area. After summarizing the spatial distribution of urban and geographical distribution about study area, then exploring urban spatial and temporal distribution and factors affecting the distribution of cities. In forth part my paper uses specific city sites as an example, in order to analysis the urban morphology and external factors and the internal spatial structure of cities and their impact factors. The fifth part is the conclusion of this article. And in the last, briefly discusses the Present Situation and protect the castle ruins. Through the above research, this paper argues Qin and Han Dynasty city of Ordos Plateau has the following characteristics:The temporal characteristics of Ordos plateau city during Qin and Han Dynasties is every significant. The transformation process of spatial evolution about the cities in study area shows that cities advanced from east to west and indented from west to east. Through research of cities in Qin dynasty there are3county-level cities and11Xian-cheng. They are concentrated in the Loess Hilly Area and Hetao Plain and Tumochuan is the most concentrated area. Continuation of the Western Han Dynasty Qin basic conditions, while the Western Han Dynasty later,4county-level cities and43Xian-cheng. The areas of each geomorphic unit cities have increased, especially in the Hetao Plain, loess hills and plains of Ningxia. During Dong-han dynasty there are4county-level cities and26Xian-cheng. Cities densely distributed in Hetao plain and Loess Hilly. Overall, the district unit difference is reflected in urban landscapes:plains, dense valley, the plateau region is relatively sparse, the natural environment point bulge.Spatial Characteristics of the study area cities:there are two external shape of the city, one is a square city rules and one is irregular. The combination of a single plane and joint city-two, which is connected in parallel associative style and city’s divided into two phase nested city. County-level and Xian-cheng different in size, county-level cities in the area is generally greater than the county level cities. But the city spatial structure basically the same, the city infrastructure less.Factors in the study area in terms of urban space:Cities in which the topography, the surrounding water and the central dynasty immigration policy, the nation’s northern pressure will have some impact on the distribution of the study area the city’s history. The external shape and internal structure of the city is the city’s topography around the city, economic development conditions, and the city administrative level functional role of water, wind and constrained by the city.
