A Study On The Institutional Adjustment Of Fudan University In The Early Days Of New China

After the liberation of China in1949to the1955, the early days after the founding of New China, Chinese colleges and universities had experienced a large-scale restructuring. This restructuring is a procedure that the government adjusts the higher education to the need of a planned economic system and puts the higher education under unified management. The way of the restructuring is to replace the original Anglo-American educational model by that of Soviet. Fudan University, as a comprehensive university at the East China region at that time, and as a central place of institutions of higher learning and higher level intellectuals, became one of the focal places of such restructuring called "adjustment of faculties " where so many people were involved in and the situation was so complicated.
