The Threefold Model of Intellectual Styles that was established by Li-fang Zhang andRobert J. Sternberg is a new Intellectual style. It bases on the Sternberg’s MentalSelf-Government Theory. It integrates ten kinds of thinking types、cognition typesand personality types. The Threefold Model of Intellectual Styles thinks thatintelligence isn’t a quality, but a state. In other words,intelligence can be created.Many researches showed that academic achievement haven not obvious relation withthree intellectual types of Threefold Model of Intellectual Styles. Understanding thestudents’ own intellectual styles can raise their esteems and motivations. This articleresearched individual chemistry teaching in high school.According to the practical research of the high school individual chemistry teachingat Class10Grade1of the N0.1Middle School of Panxian Guizhou, We obtain thefollowing conclusions:Individually teaching has a good effect on progressing studying and improving theacademic achievement.Individually teaching can improving the students’ self-esteem、self-efficiency andstudying motivation standard.This research has established three strategies by implementing individually studyingin high school:Strategy of recognizing students’ themselves.Strategy of improving students’ understanding.Strategy of scientific learning of different personality learner’s science learning.This research has established the following achievements:First, it enriches the theory of the Threefold Model of Intellectual Styles. Using TheThreefold Model of Intellectual Styles to classify the students’ intellectual types hashigh reliability. Distribution of the number of different intellectual students has highconsistency. The conclusion of this research has expanded the ranges of applyingtheory of the the Threefold Model of Intellectual Styles theory.Second, it enriches the theories chemistry teaching of high school.Implementing individually teaching that is based on the students’ intellectual types,personalitycharacteristic,thinking styles and Multiple Intelligences can increase students’self-esteem,self-efficiency and studying motivation standard. It Provides theexamples of chemistry teaching examples by individually teaching practice of Grade1in high school.Third, this research provides the new means of increasing students’ self-esteem、self-efficiency and studying motivation standard.
