Primary and middle school students’ physical and mental health has been widely concerned by the family, school and society. These students can easily make health risk behaviors which endangering their health in the process of growing up. If we couldn’t prevent those health risk behaviors, it mightily cause irreversible consequences for students. Health risk behaviors may not only be related to personal traits, but also be affected by the family, school and other environments. If the factors affecting on health risk behaviors could be found, it was possible for us to reduce the occurrence of health risk behaviors. Therefore, the current study on health risk behaviors was meaningful.Data were collected from 2714 students who came from four primary and secondary schools of Shanghai by using questionnaires, including health risk behaviors, self-esteem, loneliness, negative coping, teacher-student relationship alienation, fear of negative evaluation. The results were shown in the following:(1) Health risk behaviors on Internet overuse, poor diet and bullied were in healthier level, but 40.8% of students in 30 days experienced injury events.(2) Significant gender and school stage differences were found in health risk behaviors the same as household registration and the one-child or not. Specifically, boys had significantly more health risk behaviors on Internet overuse than girls, middle school students had significantly more health risk behaviors on Internet overuse than primary students; boys had significantly more health risk behaviors on poor diet than girls, primary students had significantly more health risk behaviors on poor diet than middle school students, local students had significantly more health risk behaviors on poor diet than foreign accounts students, one child had significantly more health risk behaviors on poor diet than non-child; boys had significantly more health risk behaviors on bullied than girls, primary students had more health risk behaviors on bullied than middle school students; boys had significantly more intentional and unintentional injury behaviors than girls, primary students had significantly more intentional and unintentional injury behaviors than middle school students, foreign accounts students had significantly more intentional and unintentional injury behaviors than local students, non-child’s had significantly intentional and unintentional injury behaviors more than one child.(3) Loneliness, fear of negative evaluation, negative coping and teacher-student relationship could positively predict the health risk behaviors on Internet overuse. Loneliness, negative coping and teacher-student relationship could positively predict the health risk behaviors on poor diet. Loneliness, negative coping and fear of negative evaluation could positively predict the health risk behaviors on bullied behavior.(4) The effect of loneliness on Internet overuse was partially mediated by negative coping, and the mediating effect made up 36.18% of the total effect. The effect of loneliness on poor diet was partially mediated by negative coping, and the mediating effect made up 26.33% of the total effect. The effect of loneliness on bullied behavior was partially mediated by negative coping, and the mediating effect made up 33.09% of the total effect. Students with high level of loneliness would do more health risk behaviors by the negative influences of negative coping.(5) Self-esteem significantly moderated the relationship between loneliness and health risk behaviors on Internet overuse. Furthermore, Self-esteem significantly moderated the relationship between loneliness and health risk behaviors on bullied. The result suggested that students with low self-esteem and low loneliness would likely to do more health risk behaviors on Internet overuse, while compared to the students with high self-esteem and low loneliness.
