With the development of the society, more and more careers become professional.Specialization has become an inevitable trend of the development of all kinds of professions.As a profession,the principal is no exception.Additionally,as the reform of the elementary education continued, people’s expectation is becoming higher and higher.This not only puts forward new requirements to the development of education,but also puts forward higher requirements to the principals.The specialization is becoming a necessary requirement for principals to adapt the development of education in new circumstance.While the research of primary and secondary school’s principal professionalization has just started in China.A system of theoretical framework has not been formed,especially the study of rural primary and secondary school principal specialization is not much.Therefore, this study attempts to explore rural primary and secondary school principals and analyses the related issues of specialization, on the basis of relevant theories, put forward the countermeasures and suggestions to improve the specialization of rural primary and secondary school principals.Firstly, sorting out theories that related the principal professional;Then defining related concepts and analyses related theories;Lastly,constructing the theoretical framework of the professionalization of primary and secondary school principals.In conclusion,the principal specialization is a process that principals developing gradually themselves.In the process,professional knowledge, professional ethics, get further development, so as to meet the special requirement of schoolmasters.As a manager, the leader of the school and educator, the headmaster should have the corresponding qualifications, perfect professional knowledge system,scientific management system,mature professional professionalization organizations and appropriate right of developing autonomy.On the basis of the above theories, the research focus on the status of the ruralprimary and secondary school principal professionalization in the south of Shandong province.And it found that there are some problems in rural primary and secondary school principal professionalization.For the headmaster themselves,lacking of professional knowledge, professional ability is not strong, professional development is not very well and fuzzy self consciousness;For the problems of management,qualifications and the job’s requirements are not clear enough,lacking of diversified and flexible employment means,lacking of administrative aptitude professional identification standard,a reasonable development plan for the principal has not been made, lacking of professional organizations,the training system floats to the surface,scientific evaluation mechanism should be further improved and the guarantee of compensation and incentive effect is difficult to come into effect.To solve the problems above,I put forward some countermeasures and suggestions.Firstly,promoting the principal specialization of the principal’s own development; Secondly,promoting the principal specialization of management’s innovation; Lastly, promoting the principal specialization of the teacher’s professional development.
