Sports dance is the combination of sports and art, the essential difference between the sports dance and other types of dance is its sports. In 1987 our country sports began to increase sport dance course in physical education curriculum in the University, some joined the sports dance curriculum content. In 2006, the National Sports Bureau officially announced the game sports dance projects included in the national sports meeting, then the national colleges and universities began to increase the sports dance professional examination of art. Shandong province in 2007 college students majoring in sports dance began with professional sports dance and recruit professional, until 2014 Shandong province sports departments set up professional sports dance school there are 6. Shandong Province as a key provinces to carry out sports dance professional, training a large number of sports dance professionals for our country and Shandong province. As more schools offering the physical dance course, sports dance professional graduates is also increasing year by year, college sports dance major problems existing in the development of increasingly prominent.This research mainly adopts literature data method, questionnaire survey method, mathematical statistics and logical analysis of sports dance major in 6 colleges and universities in Shandong province conducted a survey on the status of the curriculum, curriculum design of existing problems are analyzed, in order to promote the sports dance courses in Colleges and universities to carry out and improve the quality of teaching physical education dance majors. The results of the study show that:1, education and national requirements are inconsistent, evaluation methods are too simple, lack of unified and scientific teaching.2, in the aspects of the curriculum, curriculum setting and arrangement of most of repeated, serious side branches, a small number of public compulsory courses, professional courses are not clearly defined, the lack of match and the features of the school curriculum; public elective courses and the implementation is not in place, the professional elective courses which is not complete, the implementation is not in place in the in the process of implementation. 3, in the total hours and credits, the overall total credits amounted to less than the prescribed curriculum plan, credit arrangements are not reasonable, including professional course credits to set up high, students pay too much attention to the credit of course. Teaching hours and credits arrangement is not proportional to the course arrangement of high, credit is relatively small, but the hours more course credits set low. 4, in the aspect of teachers, teachers’ professional ability and professional title is generally not up to the requirements of the national. Teacher gender imbalance, female teachers are less; teachers tend to be younger age, the professional competence of teachers in general can not meet the requirements of students. 5, teaching facilities, less investment and school support, the training ground is not up to the requirements of professional; training ground less, students and students can not meet the students and training needs. 6 optimization strategies, College Physical Education Department of Shandong Province Sports Dance Curriculum: the use of personalized, practical teaching method for basic, heuristic, to appreciate the clear; evaluation content and standard, establish the development view of evaluation, the diversified evaluation system; curriculum setting should be comprehensive, additional cross discipline, social practice the course and characteristics of curriculum.
