A Study Of Tao Xingzhi 's Moral Education Thought

Tao Xingzhi is a great educator and thinker in our country. He dedicated his whole lifeto the education. Tao Xingzhi has created abundant education thoughts in the difficultenvironment. Life moral education plays a significant role in the profound theory of TaoXingzhi’s. According to the contemporary international and domestic background, TaoXingzhi created the life moral education. He absorbed the essence of the western moraleducation theory and traditional culture of China. His moral education thoughts is based onthe life foundation. There are many problems in moral education in our country, so weshould study and research hardly on life moral education. We can dig into the values lie bothin theory and practice.This paper is mainly researched from three aspects of Tao Xingzhi’s life moraleducation thought, which are the formation and development of life moral education, themain contents of it and the contemporary value of it.The first part is formation and development of Tao Xingzhi’s life moral educationthought, including the formation of social background, formation of the theoretical originand the forming process. Its main route mainly includes five aspects:the mutual learning,collective education, student autonomy, labor education and family education.The third part focuses on the value of Tao Xingzhi’s moral education of life. Above all,the values lie both in theory and practice. The paper elaborates on the values ofprogressiveness, nationalism and practicality of Tao Xingzhi’s theory, revealing theimportant value of Tao Xingzhi’s moral education for that society. Tao Xingzhi combinedtraditional moral theories of China with advanced moral theory in western. He created thetheory of moral education of life according to practice,much can be used as a reference today from the aims of moral education, the contents of moral education and the methods ofmoral education.
