With the popularity of Internet and mobile devices, a variety of video games became the main entertainment, and occupied a large part of people’s time and effort. Attention, one of the five basic elements of intelligence, is an important roles of organization and maintain intelligence activities. And the attention concentration is the top priority, especially for students, if the attention concentration is damaged, the normal learning will not be able to continue. Therefore, The effects of video games to the attention concentration of players was paid close attention by all walks of people and became the social hot spot.However,there are a few people do the researches about the effects abroad, and more rare in our country.Based on the existing studies about the effects of video games to attention concentration and the researches at home and abroad about the effects of video games to attention problem, this study used questionnaires and experimental method, focused on the game players’attention concentration from college, undergraduate and graduate. The questionnaires are Video Games Questionnaire edited by Anderson and Dill, and the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale Symptom Checklist. According to the score that subjects scoring for the force of the video games they were familiar, we chose two video games:LianLianKan that got the lowest score and CS that got the highest score. Physiological signal recorder was used to collect the subjects EEG data real time. The subjects of questionnaire survey are the students of schools in Nanjing, the number of subjects is 309, including 27 Experimental subjects.Finally, the data collected from subjects was statistical analyzed by SPSS 19.0.Research results show:(1) Non-violent video games really have an impact on the players’attention concentration, no matter for the long or short-term impact, and the impact has gender differences. The differences were as follows:In the short-term impact, the process of influence is different from men to women. The male players’ attention concentration was suppressed firstly, and then restored to the original level mostly. However, the female players’attention concentration was improved, and then restored to the original level mostly. In the long term impact, the impact of non-violent video games on female players’attention concentration is positive, however, on male players’attention concentration is negative. (2)The impact of Violent video games on players’attention concentration is negative, no matter for the long or short-term impact, no matter for male or female players. (3) There is a significant correlation between education background and the non-violent and violent video games players’ attention concentration, however, this relationship is not a simple linear correlation. And the data analysis showed, among the violent video games female players, there is a positive correlation between the female players’ attention concentration and their education background, namely the higher education background that the violent video games female players have, the better their attention concentration is. But this study did not discover the similar phenomenon in all subjects of non-violent video games and violent video games male players. (4) Playing games high frequency will bring negative impact for players’attention concentration, no matter non-violent or violent video games, no matter male or female players.
