Expert chemistry teachers’ classroom is of high quality teaching generally. It is of great significance for novice teachers’ professional development and chemistry teaching to make a research on expert chemistry teachers’ classroom instruction behavior characteristics. This study was under the premise of the assumption that the behavior of expert chemistry teachers had certain common characteristic, according to CPUP model, in two types of chemistry classroom, a total of eight classes of four expert chemistry teachers were analyzed by studying features of chemistry teachers’ classroom Instruction behavior pairs and chains, compared with their similarities and differences of features in two types of chemistry classroom. CPUP model is a quantitative research tool. Thus, the research added questionnaires,a kind of quality orientation method. There are two kinds of questionnaires for teachers and students. From the perspective of students and teachers’ point of view, qualitatively analyzing part of un-quantifiable behavior characteristics of expert chemistry teachers. Finally, according to the conclusion which the model CPUP drew and the results which questionnaire analysized, the authour summed up the following characteristics expert chemistry teachers have:(1)Expert chemistry teachers prefer “talk” when they are teaching, and they prefer the form of "teacher questions- teachers and students, students’ interaction-teachers make a summary" as well.(2) Expert chemistry teachers should grasp the conception of the new curriculum revolution, while having a solid foundation of chemistry knowledge.(3) Expert chemistry teachers focusing on the interactions with students in class, know students’ ZPD(Zone of Proximal Development) in time, and guide students to take more part in classroom activities.(4) Expert chemistry teachers have formed their own unique teaching styles.(5) There are some differences in the choices of Instruction Behavior Chain about different types of teaching content from different expert chemistry teachers.(6) Expert chemistry teachers can take majority of students into account in teaching.(7) Expert chemistry teachers have strong abilities to control the class, and they can catch the attention of students as long as possible. Thus higher teaching-learning efficiency is in the classroom.(8) Expert chemistry teachers will choose a mode between traditional teaching mode and a variety of new curriculum teaching modes in class to make a good class.
