In recent years, with the increasing status of China, there is emerging a global Chinese language learning fever, especially in Thailand.As a tourist country in Southeast Asia, Thailand is one of the most mature countries in the development of Chinese language teaching in the world. It takes the Thai high school students as the objection of the survey, main uses the literature review, questionnaire survey, students and teachers interviews, data analysis and other research methods to study Thai high school students’ Chinese learning motivation. According to Dornyei’s motivation building mode, this thesis designs the Thai high school students learning Chinese motivation questionnaire. In addition, it analyses the students’ answer data. Finally the results of analysis based on Thai high school students to explore the factors of Chinese learning motivation and the factors of Chinese learning motivation decreased. The ultimate goal of the thesis is making some recommendations for Thai high school Chinese teaching through analyzing motivation.The objection of the thesis is the motivation of Thai high school students’ Chinese learning motivation. Language learning is a very complex process, involving in psychology, pedagogy and cognitive science and many other subjects. About Thai high school students Chinese learning motivation,the results show that education motivation is strongest, followed by the achievement motivation, learning situation motivation, tools motivation, extrinsic pressure motivation, acculturation motivation. In addition, the ethnic Chinese motivation is significantly higher than non-Chinese. Gender differences lead to different types of motivation strength. Comparing to introverted students, extroverted students’ learning motivation is stronger.Motivation is a dynamic process, so the thesis also investigates the decrease of motivation, and explores the reasons from four parts that the course content and difficulty of the exam, the curriculum of science or not, the attitudes to Chinese people or the Chinese cultural and the ability of teachers. Based on the characteristics of Thai high school students’ Chinese learning, the thesis puts forward a number of recommendations in the final chapter, teachers, students and schools, and hoping to improve Chinese teaching in Thai high schools.
