Mr Tao Xingzhi once said,you may beat a Watt, you may eye a Newton coldly, you may laugh at a Edsion. Teachers often have bias against some students, espcially those academically poor students. The academic bias become coldness,ridicule and criticism in teaching, which hurts students mentally and physically. Meanwhile, academic bias is also an obstacle to the realization of fair classroom teaching. Because of that, after collecting the related theories in sociology and psychology, this research, using a way ling theories and practice, chooses class E in school C as the study sample and observes the interaction between teachers and students in and after class. Apart from that, the writer also does questionare surveys among students and interviews with students and teachers in order to find how teachers’academic bias affect their teaching negatively and the reason why some teachers have academic bias. Based on related theories,the author constructs some strategies to help teachers overcome their academic bias and promote the realization of fair classroom teaching.This essay can be divided into five parts. The introduction part deals with the origin of this research,summarizing existing related researches and introducing research methods; the first chapter defines core concepts, discussing the connotations and characteristics of teachers’academic bias and analyzing the reasons for teacher’s academic bias from theoretical perspective,narrating the necessity of overcomingteacher’s academic bias; the second chapter describes the investigation of the present situation of teachers’academic bias, using class E in school C as an example; the third chapter focuses on the analysis of the reason of teachers’academic bias and the construction of the strategies to overcome teachers’academic bias from teacher themselves and the evaluation systerm;the fourth chapter illustrates the intervention study in practice and analyzes the result of the intervention;the fifth chapter draws a conclusion about the study and narrates the limitations of the study.The writer explores the reason why teachers have academic bias from three perspectives, that is, theories related with bias, teacher’s teaching ideas and the evaluation system. According to the reasons, this essay constructs some strategies to overcome teachers’academic bias, that is, teachers reflect themselves about their academic bias regularly; teachers increase their contact with those academically poor students;teachers learn more teaching theories. After the intervention, the relationship between teachers and students improved a lot and the study interest of those academically poor students also increased a lot. By investigation and intervention, it proves that teachers’academic bias can be overcame by using these strategies.
