Reflective teaching is a new teaching model that is advocated in the new curriculum reform. The reflective spirit is the inexhaustible source of continuous progress in all human’s activities and their spiritual civilization. The aim of teaching and learning chemistry in high schools is to solve problems and exceed the traditional teaching and learning model. The reflective teaching and learning model plays an important role in arousing teachers’ independent consciousness as well as guiding their career. All the educating and teaching activities of teachers directly affect the country’s quality of its future education and the students’ future development. The best way for teachers to conduct teaching researches by adopting the reflective teaching and learning model in order to improve their teaching skills and professional competence through teaching practices. Taking the characteristics of high school chemistry teaching into account, the author of the thesis integrates the two aspects of reflective chemistry teaching content and design. He tries to introduce the idea of reflective teaching and learning model, exploring ways to implement it. The preliminary practice has proved that the reflective teaching model in chemistry teaching has played a significant role in improving classroom teaching and learning efficiency. On the one hand, it can enhance students’ learning motivation, better the teacher-student relationship and facilitate the teachers’ professional development. On the other hand, the study of the specific cases have laid solid foundation for future education and teaching reforms.
