English writing is a key problem in second language acquisition and practical English teaching. In recent years,with the development of the educational reformation in English teaching in senior middle schools,English teaching in writing has caught many scholars’ and teachers’ attention. In English language acquisition,to study the characteristics of English writing and to solve practical problems during English writing are hot issues to improve teaching strategies of English writing. During the process of English writing,the existence of mother tongue transfer has a great effect on English writing. So it becomes a leading topic. Teachers are exploring how to help students to get over negative transfer in the process of English writing and at the same tine teachers are trying their best to improve positive transfer to develop their English thinking habit. Educators haven’t fully realized the important role of input in English teaching. There is the lack of theoretical support in English teaching. Students are not cultivated English language awareness.As for the questions mentioned above, the survey is designed and analyzed carefully. Firstly,on the basis of consulting lots of relative researches at home and abroad,the writer gives the definition of mother tongue transfer and input theory. The writer explores how to help senior high school students overcome mother language transfer phenomena in English writing. Secondly,by the methods of questionnaire,the writer analyses the present condition of senior high school students’ English writing. Thirdly, according to the theoretical research and analysis, the writer discusses some strategies on how to help senior high school students overcome mother language transfer phenomena in English writing. All the researches are based on error analysis. The writer’s research aim is to explore the effect of mother language transfer in English writing. To understand how and to what degree mother language has influenced students’ English writing. The writer raised some questions related to error types in English writing,such as error frequency,the reasons and effects of mother language transfer. Due to the influence of objective condition,it’s very hard to reverse the students’ Chinese mind. Therefore, we also need further practice and exploration in the future teaching.
