Advance organizer put forward by Ausubel is an effective teaching method that is suitable for China’s national conditions, which is based on meaningful accepting study and students’ cognitive structure, as a bridge between old and new knowledge. The rational use of advance organizer is not only convenient for the acquirement of new knowledge, but also beneficial for the improvement and deepening of old knowledge in the existing cognitive structure. Since Ausubel came up with advance organizer strategy in last century, it caught the attention of education scholars all around the world. With the development of Ausubel himself and the following researchers, advance organizer strategy has deepened into micro field of various specific teaching from the macro level of educational principle and the application of it expanded to higher education from basic education. The advance organizer strategy research of predecessors was focused on more logical subject curriculums, such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, while history is a basic subject that is responsible for cultivating healthy personality and correct three-values, how to make the history class in middle school more effective is worthy of attentions from the history educators. The effectiveness of advance organizer strategy was verified in many subjects. Can advance organizer strategy paly a great role in the history class of middle school? How to apply advance organizer strategy into class teaching effectively especially is worth to study and explore.This article was mainly based on advance organizer strategy that was put forward by Ausubel and took use of various theories that were developed by Ausubel himself and following researchers rationally, applying advance organizer strategy into current history teaching practice of middle school and explored the initial design and application process of advance organizer strategy adopted by history teaching of middle school. By experiment detection of detailed teaching practice and the results of questionnaire to analyze the effect of advance organizer strategy on history teaching in middle school, it provided reference for the workers in the field of history teaching in middle school, so that the history teachers can design teaching content that are more suitable for students’ cognitive structures; it also helps to improve the students’ performance in history and develop the students’ ability of historical thinking and knowledge transfer, which is helpful for the development of basic education in China.
