This paper will discuss the pros and cons technology had on the Olympics by looking back through the development of the Olympics.Historically, 3 times of science and technology revolution had a profound impact on the prosperity and development of the modern Olympic Games—from offering soil to the newborn technology at the beginning of the modern Olympics Renaissance to the full penetration of the modern Olympic Games, modern Olympic Games, with the support of technology has achieved a qualitative leap and becomes one of the most influential cultural phenomenon in human society, this is its pro.However, the core driving force of the modern Olympic movement transformed into the innovation of technology from human’s own development after the emerging of astonishing efficiency of technology. In1972, the 20 th session of modern Olympic Games, known as the “Hi- tech Olympics”, was held in Munich, Germany, and since then, the technical process Olympic movement began, followed by the negative effects of technology application such as the damage to the athletes’ own health and stimulants abuse. The root causes of these negative effects are technology alienation, people therefore has gradually lost dominant power over Olympics; followed by the violation of fair competition and the loss of sports education, this is its con.With the 31 st Olympic Games on the road, we must realize the technology alienation has caused serious harm to the sports undertaking represented by the modern Olympic Games. We must raise attention, and try to eliminate the technology alienation in the modern Olympic Games. This is not just about the healthy development of the modern Olympic Games, but more about providing solutions to similar problems of related areas since technology alienation has began to spread across the world, and not the non-sports domain. In response to this situation, thispaper propose to explore the possibilities of eliminating the technology alienation modern Olympic Games by the return of Olympic movement’s value and to find a rational attitude theoretically, as well as put specific measures into use, including principles of building technological application, changes in competition rules, give new missions to the Commission of Technology.
