Chemistry is the science of studying the compositions, structures and properties of matter and its changes on the basis of atoms and molecules. Among the numerous naturals sciences, chemistry has been considered as 搕he central course of study in the 21st century?by IUPAC because of its indispensable role in our daily life and the national economy and its basic function in the development of modern science. Seen from its features, chemistry is a natural science on the basis of experiments. Chemistry experiment maintains an important role in the development of this science. It not only is one of the most important and essential means in the scientific researches and discoveries but also is a key link in fostering students of all qualities as well as training talented persons. However, in the present middle-school chemistry teaching, the teachers attach greater importance to imparting chemistry knowledge to students. They ignore the training and developing of students?chemistry experimenting skills. Seen from the comprehensive situations of the researches on skills and chemistry experiment, the existing problems are as follows: insufficient quality of being perfect, mistaken understanding of the teaching aims and poor systematicness. This essay, based on the demonstrations and investigations of the present chemistry experiment teaching and the conditions of students?experimenting skills in middle schools of our country, points out the necessity and significance of strengthening the experiment teaching and improving students?experimenting skills in accordance with present problems existing in experimenting skill training; then, proceeding from the fruitful researches of educational psychology, the essay probes into the forming regular pattern of middle-school students?experimenting skills by applying experimenting method and brings forth a series of training methods and guiding principles on experimenting skills; finally the essay further demonstrates its viewpoints be means of teaching examples and comparing tests. One of the main tasks of the teaching aims in middle school chemistry experiment teaching is training students?experimenting skills. Improving experimenting skills is the basis of training students?creative ability as well as the important element in composing students?scientific qualities. As a result, this essay probing into the forming regular pattern of middle school students?experimenting skilTh and the training methods, is of positive significance for scientific quality education, creative ability training, the practice of middle-school chemistry teaching and the research into the forming regular pattern of skills in educational psychology.
