Virtual University Collaborative Teaching And Its Supporting Platform

The joint force of modern education theory, technology and market has given birth to a new educational organization which is now called the virtual university. With its incomparable' advantages, the virtual university is the future direction of the education development.The virtual university has a unique education environment. Therefore its education activities shall not copy the education theory and teaching mode of the traditional university. To maintain the quality of the virtual university education, an in-depth research has to be made concerning the basic education theory, teaching mode and teaching environment, especially the teaching supporting system. Today, the research of the virtual university education in our country is still in the stage of theoretical or experimental exploration. The incomplete education theory, the copied education mode, and the poor teaching supporting system, all together have infected the quality of education, and hampered the further research and development of the virtual university.To promote the research into the education theory and practice of the virtual university, this thesis aims straightly at the current problems and is mainly about the collaborative teaching and the construction of its supporting system. It first discusses the basis of education theory of the virtual university, and points out that the constitutive education theory can be set as the foundation of the virtual university education theory. Secondly, it defines the teaching mode and environment of the virtual university, and also summarizes several kinds of teaching mode, the composing of teaching environment and the properties of some new education elements. Finally, with a careful analysis of the cooperative teaching mode, the paper proposes a practical method, and designs a cooperative education process and a corresponding supporting system model.
