Teacher status is teachers' status and qualification on society or law. Generally speaking, the teacher identity in the world can be mainly classified as civil servant, employee and civil employee. But the teacher identity in China belongs to none of them above. The author consults and collects concerned materials at home and abroad on the part of theory and practice, making use of the literature research and comparative research methods. Based on the results of analysis and the author's own work experience, this dissertation is divided into five parts :The first part--prelude. On the ground of the definition of the teacher identity, the author analyzes three kinds of the teacher identity as well as the status quo in our country, comparing the teacher with the civil servant in common and difference. Setting up the clue for the next discussion.The second part- analyzes the status quo of the teacher identity in our country. At present, the teacher is not listed in the rank of the civil servant. The problem lies in the policy, law, economy, education system and the teacher himself.The third part- focuses on the feasibility and the advantage and disadvantage of building up the teacher as the civil servant system, introducing the experience of implementing the civil servant, probing the feasibility, advantage, disadvantage of implementing the teacher as the civil servant from different categories such as the teacher qualification system, teacher appointment system and teacher training.The fourth part-prospects. It highlights the teacher-civil servant system from the educational strategy, the education the development of the teacher profession, consummation of the education legislation and improvement of the teacher status in our country.The fifth part-conclusion. The author propose carrying out the teacher servant system, based on the reality of the country.Generally speaking, the author tries to find a supportive point for describing teacher's profession identity qualitatively on the basis of theory and practice, and aims at offering the strong evidence for educational policy makers, and providing the beneficial reference for the reform and the development of teachers' personnel system.
