With the establishment of socialist market economy, the reformation of employment system fow China' s college students has achieved great success. The traditional pattern of "unified assignment"has given way to that of "applying for the job by students'own will". This reformation has brought both the opportunity and pressure. It's an important issue facing government department at various levels, colleges and universities, and other circles of society on how to make good use of the valuable talent resources of college students and bring their ability into full play so as to further develop our national economy and society.With the analysis of economic and political factors bearing on college studerts' employment, this paper attempts to provide some theoretic foundations for healthy development of their job - seeking situation.Study shows the economic elements play a decisive role in college students' job-hunting process, mainly focusing on the following ways: The economic development exercises influence on the number of students in need of jobs, the requirement of their competence and scope of jobs available; And different economic development level in different regions effects where they flow; Economic system also influences how their employment system runs.Study also shows political elements play a restrictive role in their employment situation, which finds their expression in the law and regulation , education plan and important strategic policy decided by the government.By means of the foregoing analysis, the author comes to a few basic conclusions. And in view of the difficulty and pressure facing the em-ployment situation of China' s college students, the author also puts forward some proposals aiming to handle the situation better.
