One of the connotations of quality education is that education is to orientate to each student. In conventional teaching, it means consideration should be given to each student, not simply training the excellent students and helping the poor ones. Conventional education can hardly reach this goal because of various limitations. However, CAI, which has risen and is developing nowadays, has cost great impact on conventional teaching such as on its ideas, conditions, environments and so on, which have been or are now in change. And this has provided more conditions and chances to satisfy various demands of the students. Under the guide of the Disparity Teaching Theory, CAI can help carry on such an approach in class.This thesis consists of six parts, each discussing carrying on disparity teaching with CAI.The first part raises questions concerning advantages and disadvantages balance between individual teaching and collective teaching. It also probes into the possibility of combining these two approaches of training the excellent students and helping the poor ones and carrying on Disparity Teaching in class.Part two expounds in theory the students' differences in cognition, emotion and physiology and its educational implications. It also advances the basic principles and methods in testing student's differences.Part three first gives a brief introduction to the development and deficiency in CAI, then depicts CAI's function and technological support for Disparity Teaching, as well as leading into making courseware according to students' differences.Part four gives a detailed study on developing the computerized lesson plan suitable for Disparity Teaching. Courseware should be developed in three steps, namely designing, making and testing, as to meet the need of Disparity Teaching.Part five systematically expounds the concrete steps in applying CAI to Disparity Teaching. First it deals with the tactics of constructing integrated classroom teaching, and then introduces in detail two different Disparity Teaching procedures between multi-fimctional classrooms and computer-aid teaching net, as well as carrying out the experiment and result analysis of disparity teaching with the aid of computer teaching system.The last part summarizes the practical significance brought about by the application of CAI to Disparity Teaching and puts forward some problems involved for further research.
