The reason why Chuang Tzu is taken as a subject of academic thesis in Chinese Education History is that the education of Taoism has been thought as sub branch in this field for a long time, not to mention "the great but not justified; very improbable and removed from human experience" of Chuang Tzu philosophy.Although some books or thesis about Taoistic classics on Chinese Education History have appeared in succession recently, rarely do they touch the field of Chuang Tzu. Contrary to the academic work in literature, history and philosophy, We know little about Chuang Tzu and are lack of systematic exposition about its education. Moreover, We misunderstand him deeply. But is Chuang Tzu really a "counter education" sample? If education is thought to aim at personal grooming, then"what is man?" and"what is the meaning of life?" .When we can't have answers to such questions, Chuang Tzu gives the answer and should play an important role in the field of education history research. Our way is to let Chuang Tzu say what he wants to say, which means we understand it in his own way instead of confucianisum way. We should read it at the background of " Dao" and " De" , paying attention to a variety in things and transcending factor in his system. We are to get the general viewpoint as well as the significance of the ideal and wisdom of Chuang Tzu Education. Finally, We need the to reconsider the definition of education by analyzing the misunderstanding or contradiction in the original research. The body of the article is divided into four parts.Chapter one deals with the topic whether Chuang Tzu can be regarded as agreat teacher since it is much questioned. We begin with the discussion about the problem to the definition of Chuang Tzu education by analyzing the cause of the misunderstanding and explaining the key word " Dao" and "De".We come to the conclusion that the characteristics of Chuang Tzu Education lies in its abnormal and noformalism style. Chuang Tzu sees things like education under the form of eternity.Chapter Two , Three and Four focus on the main subject :the ideal and wisdom of Chuang Tzu education.Chapter Two "learning of life "is on the ideal of Chuang Tzu Education. WhatChuang Tzu think of human nature--human nature is beyond good or evil--makes Chuang Tzu Educational Thought possible. There are two arrangements of ideas in the ideal of Chuang Tzu Education: " De" and " perfect personality" . Theformer aims at the freedom of the soul--the happy excursion. The latter showsthe quality of a perfect man . Chuang Tzu says: "The perfect man has no self; The spiritual man has no achievement; The sage has no name." .It is like that of the " self realization" . "the fasting of mind" and " sitting hi forgetfulness" are two ways to reach such goals.Chapter Three and Four are about the wisdom of Chuang Tzu Education.Chapter Three "knowledge and wisdom "focuses on " to learn" in a student* s respect(l) " Small knowledge is not to be compared with the great knowledge." . Why the small knowledge exist and why it should be eliminated have the answer through exposition.(2) What Chuang Tzu pursue is not common knowledge(small knowledge)but great knowledge, which makes man enlightened.(3)The development knowledge system of Chuang Tzu is established and the essence of Chuang Tzu thinking mode is the way of the intellectual intuition.(4) " Life and wisdom" , "knowledge and moral" are not separate in Chuang Tzu knowledge system. They are one thing.Chapter four "perfect teaching" focuses on u to teach" in a teacher' s respect. It has three parts to elaborate. (1) "teaching beyond the language" . It shows the mam current of Chuang Tzu teaching style by analyzing the limitation of the language function and elaborating the extraordinary teaching method of Chuang Tzu, which depends on the accomplishment of a teacher himself and the inherent tearing by a student himself. It represents the transformation form from the teaching origned style to the learning origned style. (2) "great teacher" . It describ...
