Chinese Aesthetic Teaching (CAT) is an import way by which Chinese teaching leads the students to go towards wonderful life and consciously devote themselves to creating new life following the Tegularities of beauty. It occupies an crucial position in the whole Chinese education and plays an irreplaceable part in the cultivation of the fully developed persons.The concept of Chinese Aesthetic Teaching is as follows: it is a kind of teaching concept and approach; In this approach, in order to acquire the best teaching effect, the teachers and students follow the principles of beauty ,apply various means, methods and techniques integratedly ,and appreciate and create the beauty of teaching in the process of Chinese teaching, thus both the teachers and the students can obtain the pleasure in body and mind. CAT has three characteristics. Firstly, it has the feature of emotionality. Emotion is the soul of CAT, the activities of both teaching and studying need the inspiration and motivation of emotion. Secondly, it has the feature of creativity, which mainly reflects in the aspect of teaching. Thirdly, it has the feature of image. Image is the starting point of aesthetics. Without image, there is no aesthetic feel. The functions of CAT mainly reflects in these two aspects: inspiring emotion and inducing interests; enlightening intelligence and pleasing spirit.CAT has its abundant theoretical bases, the most important of which is aesthetics. The basic principles of aesthetics such as system principle, harmony principle, delight principle, creativity principle all can be seen in Chinese teaching. These theories together with other theories form the theoretical foundation of CAT.CAT needs to make virtual efforts from two aspects in order to be truly put into teaching practice. Firstly, following the principle of CAT. The four major principles are the principle of the Unification of content and form; the principle of the integration of science and aesthetics; the harmony principle and the delightprinciple. Secondly, exploring various methods of CAT. There are many methods of CAT, each of which has their own features and advantages. These three methods with the most general meaning and developing potential are emotional teaching method, Image teaching method and situational teaching method.CAT has its own special value and meaning in our country, because it is the need of the implementation of quality education, the need of delight education and the need of the new situation of Chinese teaching innovation. It makes us be confident of the developing prospect of CAT.
