The cultivating of scientific literacy is the elementary goal of chemistry curriculum and educational reform, And scientific inquiry activity is the effective way of cultivating students' scientific literacy. The design of scientific inquiry activity pays attention to putting theory into practice throughout the chemistry instruction. Therefore, it's significant to make the chemistry instruction more scientific, regular and practical, if you perform the design of scientific inquiry activity actively and initiatively. The design of scientific inquiry activity constructs a bridge between instructive theory and practice, which can offer more opportunities for chemistry teachers to teach and research creatively, at the same time put the theory into practice. In this paper, the author will explore and deal with the meaning of the scientific inquiry activity and the theory and practice of the design of that, according to the study theory of the constructivism, also based on the advice and require of chemistry curriculum standard for common senior school. And it also will discuss the problems found during the research, that is, the elements that affect the scientific inquiry activity.With the approach of performance study as main method of study, and together with the practice of chemistry teaching in senior school, the author conducted a yearlong profound study with the aim at putting the scientific inquiry activities of different kinds and levels in the chemistry text into practice. The author also noticed that the scientific inquiry activity offers widely space for students' development and is the effective way of cultivating students' scientific literacy, As a result of the equality, open, and democracy in concept; the self-control, experience and individual in course; the vigor, variety and interest in form. It was required that the hard work and creativity of more teachers doing the instructional reform more deeply. Through teaching practice, the feasibility of this paper is verified. As is proved in practice, scientific inquiry activity plays an active urging role in improving students' scientific literacy. |
