Scientific literacy has become the core of reform of science education in new century. It is a key link for realizing the new teaching aim that how to comprehend the forming procedure of scientific literacy in chemical experiment instruction.This article firstly elaborates the basic connotation and structure of scientific literacy, probes into the teaching function of junior chemical experiment under philosophy of new curriculum reform, and elucidates the aimed significance and theoretical basis cultivated in junior chemical experiment instruction. It also analyzes the necessity and feasibility of training scientific literacy.Since the content involved in scientific literacy is extensive, for the sake of pertinences, the author made a spot check among several students in grade 9 of junior school in Zhenjiang. Through the statistic and analysis of the investigation result, the author found out problems in current junior students' scientific literacy. Combined with investigation of actuality to teacher and students' experiment, the author analyzes the disadvantages affecting junior school students in chemical experiment instruction.During study on practice of junior chemical experiment instruction to cultivate scientific literacy, the author points out that to improve teachers' scientific literacy is the premise; Meanwhile, the author makes investigation in the students' literacy referring scientific emotions, values, process and methods.In the end, the author selects some cases in the chemical experiment teaching. The author makes teaching preparation and teaching reflection about students' scientific literacy in experiment teaching, which will be useful for reference.
