Creative education takes the development of crea -tive consciousness , creative ability and the quality of creative personality as its basic objective . The advance and practice of creative education is the tendency of the new era .The history course in middle schools plays a very important role in creative education because of its advantages. The article expounds the intention and significance of the creative education, and probes into the approaches, methods and obstacles of implementing the creative educ -ation in the teaching of history in middle schools, employing the theory of education, psychology and cognitive science in order to provide new insights into educational reform and benefit in developing creative talented man . The youth are filled with high spirit and wild enthusiasm in the adolescence. They have fierce curiosity, thirst for knowledge .fierce independence and critical spirit, so the personal characteristic of the adolescent must be considered as an important criterion when the history teacher puts creative education into practice . In order to implement the creative education, history teacher should carry out teaching democracy, build a harmonious and comfortable teaching atm -osphere and allow students to hold independent ideas and view points. And the teachers should create compatible teaching context, activate students' inter -ests, and stimulate students' creative desire. At the same time , the teachers should implement elicitation method of teaching , setting up question condition and encouraging students to ask for an explanation.
