The speedy development of advanced technology and the society and the increasing competition together create emanse pressure and danger, causing more and more serious mental health problems. During the process of the changing of our life style and pursuing of quality living, we discover the new concepts of good health - it includes the well-being of both body and mind. The concern for mental wellness has thus gained more and more attention.Due to the economic recession, pressure in life has been increasing. Many problems have then been created. Therefore, the society has started to realize the importance of social workers and has had higher expectation on them. The social workers' scope of work includes various areas such as school, family, social well fare etc. Their jobs require special professional skills. On one hand, they have to study and understand their clients' need and give assistance. On the other hand, they need to be responsible for balancing the standards set by their work unit and the society, their professional ethics, and the moral system of the society, so that these different issues will be complimenting to each other instead of confronting. Work pressure, psychological pressure and even crisis are then easily formed. If such pressures are not properly handled, psychological and mental illnesses will be caused and they will affect both the body and mind. Social work is a people business; therefore, it is important to keep the social workers' mind in good health so that they can help people. To keep the social workers' mind in good health is not only beneficial to the society, and the social workers themselves but alsoto the society' s choice of specialists. Therefore, the study of the social workers' state of mind bears crucial importance.According to the findings of this research, the condition of the state of mind of Macau' s social workers is reaching the edge of the value for positive symtoms. The female social workers' condition has already reached the borderline and there is a possibility that some symtoms already exist. Although the findings show the local social workers' condition is better than that of the Mainland China university students, but it is below the national standard. Besides, the health of mind of the social workers is closely related to their ways to handle their own problems, whether they face the problems directly, indirectly or if they simply avoid them. There is no evidence showing that one' s personality has any direct relation to his/her mental wellness, althoughit may have some connection to a person's becoming mentally ill.
