Based on the study of the internal and external on Mathematical Open-ended Problem Teaching (below for short: MOPT), we give definition of MOPT in this paper, discuss the condition and process of it.Through surveying MOPT in Grade One of primary middle school from teachers and students, we have found some problems that should be paid attention to in MOPT; analyzed the characteristics of the experimental teaching material, and classified the mathematical open-ended problems of it; according to the new curriculum reformation, we have carried out an experiment of improving MOPT on new teaching material:Firstly, teachers should make full use of the opening experimental teaching material, develop MOPT in classes. This includes: Helping different level students understand mathematical conceptions by mathematical open-ended problems; Introducing theorems and formulas in form of mathematical open-ended problems, let students experience the process of creation; Leading students to explore, cooperate and communicate by mathematical open-ended problems.Secondly, teachers can weave mathematical open-ended problems, so that to develop students' thought character. This includes: Adapting exercises of experimental teaching material; Revising the wrong in students' homework; Design mathematical open-ended problems on reality and life; Revising "reading material".Some results of the research have been pointed out, and some expectations of the MOPT have been brought out.
