Traditional education of science has not been able to meet the requirements of modern high-speed developing science and technology. So a new teaching idea and method is put forward: to let students join in the science process to study it, in other words, to "experience science". The core is taking developing scientific accomplishment as the basic goal, scientific idea and method as the prominent teaching content, and permeating the research-centred teaching method—letting children join in the process of scientific inquiry. As an important content and approach of scientific study, scientific inquiry has been approved by many countries, and has become one of the major aim of the course reform of elementary education in our country. The development of scientific inquiry activities is the basic idea of modern science education, the need of students' all-round development and the important subject of elementary education course reform. The learning theory of constructivism and humanism, the teaching theory of educators , such as Duwey and Schwab , lay the theoretical basis for scientific inquiry.On the basis of launching research scientific inquiry activities and substantial evidences , the essay summarizes the design principle of scientific inquiry activities: face the whole , respect the difference ; close to life , contact the society; inquire actively ,discover personally; strengthen cooperation , further communication ; teacher-student interaction, strengthen guide, comment scientifically , promote development ; exploit resources , guarantee the quality; suit measures to local conditions, make differences according to schools . The essay also provides the author's own exploration : some definite cases on design and substantial evidences of scientific inquiry activities, such as "The Test of the Food's Acidity and Basicity ", "Why is the Newly-Built Cement Court Unqualified?" . The essay expounds the results of developing subject research: Scientific inquiry changed the students'recognition of Chemistry , stirred their interest in study ; enhanced their understanding of nature science technology, etc , strengthened their sense ofsocial responsibility; helped them experience the process of scientific inquiry; improved their ability of scientific inquiry; widened their knowledge, trained their skills. At the same time, the essay thought of the research activities.
