Nowadays, the reforming of the middle school course is in progress. The purpose of the new course is to promote the overall and coordinating development of every student. The position and effect of local history, which is nearly relative to the new course is very outstanding. It includes these as follows: the teaching of local history is useful to put the theories of the new course standard into practice, and is the important breach to put the new course into practice.But, the teaching of local history is poor in total in practice. Take Nanjing City for example , the position of local history is very low and the local history knowledge of the students is very poor . The teachers' manner towards the teaching is negative.With the guiding of the theories of the new course standard, the author tries to build new ways of the teaching of local history. The author thinks that three sides should be improved . The first is the textbook of local history, the second is the ways of teaching, and the third is the ways of appraising. The author has made some research about the collecting of materials of local history, the principles to compile the local history textbook, and the compiling electric local history textbook. The author tries to use the ways of viewing, discussing and researching about the ways of teaching. The usage of the way of term files bag is discussed in this article about the appraising of local history teaching.
