The research is on the basis of view of intellectual knowledge, by analyzing the influence of outside-reading and watching TV to the pupils' knowledge representation in theory, then analyze the influence of outside-reading and watching TV to the pupils' subject intelligence development. And verify the analysis results about the questionnaire investigation of 490 students in Grade 4 and Grade 5 in 10 primary schools in Liaoyang city (4 key primary schools, 6 ordinary schools) and the interview of one or two students. The result shows: 1. Outside-reading is more important to promote how to found and strengthen the pupils' reproductive imagination representation than watching TV. And it's more useful to improve the pupils' creativity. 2. Outside-reading can increase the pupils' memory of the original anchorage more than watching TV. It can improve the depth the pupils' thought. 3. Outside-reading is in more favor of the pupils' intelligent development than watching TV.
