Under the influence of the United States women's professionalbasketball league WNBA, women's basketball in China has also beenfurther developed. The National Basketball league match of home andaway field system has been officially launched in December 2001.Although China started its match system and reformation much later,WCBA is of highest level of our national competition in which thereare all active national women basketball team player. According tothe rule of the league match each WCBA participating team can employtwo foreign players. From the foreign aid we not only learn someadvanced foreign basketball concepts and advanced technical andtactical narrowing the gap between our teams. Automatic demotionsystem is implemented in the league match—the last two teams-willdegrade into lower level team. So every women basketball teamsactively prepare for the competition and strive to make its owncharacteristics.Therefore, the study of participating teams in WCBA competitions can enhance competitive ability of women basketball team in China and narrow the gap between the world's best women's basketball team and us.This thesis studies Hebei women basketball team and another 11 teams in 2004 - 2005 National Women's league match. Through observation, documentation, expert interviews, statistics, it makescomparison between Hebei team and the others from the height of the players, weight, age, Ketuolai index, competition conventional technical indicators, and at different position conventional technical indicators of players. It finds the gap between Hebei women basketball team and the other teams at physical conditions, the total score, hit rate of two points shooting and rebound.Through watching matches the author finds Hebei Basketball traditional "fast, accurate, and skillful" technical and tactical style is not employed efficiently with many shortcomings such as weak overall offensive capability, inactive defense, too many defensive loopholes, poor capacity of grabbing rebounds and psychological state, weak capacity of attacking and scoring of theforward and the ceter forward. This provides a theoretical basis for the future development of Hebei women Basketball.
