Emotion nurturing is important and difficult. The new basic education curriculum reform pays much attention to students' development on emotional domain, which involves affection, attitude and valuation. To realize chemical learning emotion of junior middle school students and actuality of emotion nurturing in the New Curriculum background, the study designs and carrys out two investigations. The results suggest: first, today's junior middle school students have high chemical learning emotion; second, students have much deficiency in attitude development; third, there isn't any significant difference between emotion development of schoolboys and that of girls; fourth, chemistry teachers know the importance of emotion nurturing, but act slowly; and fifth, there're many difficulties in emotion nurturing of chemical teaching, most of them come from education for exams.At the same time, according to the theory of emotion nurturing, the practice with two ways of emotion nurturing is carried out. One is chemical teaching in class, the other is case study after class. The emotion teaching strategies of teaching content, organization, evaluation and environment are discussed. The results show the necessary and feasibility of emotion nurturing in chemical teaching, and provide reference cases for middle school chemistry teachers.
